These young people took another important step in their education this month when they left primary school for junior high - Clounagh Junior High in this case. Another initiative from the teachers at Clounagh Special Unit is the introduction of a school savings bank. The bank is to be managed by the children, but staff from the Northern Bank will be on hand to offer professional advice. Head of the unit, Mrs Marie Hughes, says of the project, "The savings bank is designed to help the children learn the ins and outs of keeping accounts, banking, thrift and saving.
