AIMING HIGH IN SCHOOL

These young people took another important step in their education this month when they left primary school for junior high - Clounagh Junior High in this case. Scott Baird and Julie Nixon get some French lessons from the new French assistant at Clounagh Junior High School, Nicole De Beaupuy, who is an English teacher from Bordeaux. Another initiative from the teachers at Clounagh Special Unit is the introduction of a school savings bank. The bank is to be managed by the children, but staff from the Northern Bank will be on hand to offer professional advice. Head of the unit, Mrs Marie Hughes, says of the project, "The savings bank is designed to help the children learn the ins and outs of keeping accounts, banking, thrift and saving.
