THE PUPILS WHO HELP KEEP ORDER IN THE SCHOOL

Clounagh Prefects: Clounagh Junior High School has chosen its prefects for the year, and don't they look a tidy lot - a real example to the rest of the school. In the centre of the front row, side-by-side are Head Girl Suzanne Guy and Head Boy Neville Young, and beside them are their deputies, Anna McCready, Samantha Wright, Alan Cull and David Muldrew. The bandsmen of the Duke of Kent's regiment recently entertained the pupils of Clounagh Junior High School with an afternoon of light music. Here some of the pupils get a quick lesson on how to play the French Horn. (25 Oct 1985))

Two pairs of twins from Clounagh Junior High School did their own bit for fund raising for the BBC's "Children In Need" appeal. Ruth and Gail Cummings (top) and Lynne and Sharon Montgomery organised a competition to name a doll and guess the amount of sweets in a jar. The amount of money the girls raised was £90. CLOUNAGH KEY TO HELPING THE DEAF

Some of the pupils from Clounagh Junior High School who are helping to organise a collection for the 'Blue Peter' Christmas Appeal. Back left - Lorraine Fleming and Julie King. Front - Ian Richardson and Vivienne Livingstone. They are collecting small pieces of scrap such as old coins, keys, cigarette lighters and padlocks and these will go towards providing special radios for the partially deaf. The collection will then be taken to a collecting point in Belfast by Williams Transport who have agreed to organise similar collections all over the country. (20 Dec 1985)

Champs! Pupils of Clounagh Junior High School forming their own Spion Kop! The group recently travelled to Liverpool to watch the Anfield giants take on Aston Villa and they came back happy with Liverpool winning 3-0. SWEET NOTES OF SUCCESS

Success is the sound of music to Richhill student Anna McCreedy who has passed a grade four examination set by Trinity College School of Music. Clounagh Junior High School pupil Anna was second. (20 Mar 1986)

The pupils of Clounagh Junior High School have reason to be proud of their boys' under-13 'A' hockey team. They have just won the Mid-Ulster Schools Hockey Association League and were runners-up in the cup. The boys were trained by Mr W. Gracey, head of the school's English Department. (9 May 1986)

CLOUNAGH SPREAD THE WORD

Teamwork - Teacher Mrs Heather Malcolmson and pupil Helen Glass hold the Bible which the pupils of Clounagh Junior High School class 'A' Purple purchased recently. The pupils raised almost £30 for the Bible which will be used for Morning Assembly readings and Prize Days. (16 May 1986)

CLOUNAGH PUPIL SETS THE PACE FOR MS AND RAISES £228

Action girl Nicola Mercer swims, cycles and runs for charity. From left to right: (1) Nicola gets off to a flying start by taking the plunge in the 250 metres swim; (2) Wheeling into the second section of the event - a gruelling nine mile cycle; (3) Right foot forward for the final three mile run; (4) At last - a smiling face and a gold medal says it all. Clounagh Junior High School pupils pictured with the Portadown Garment Manufacturing Co. Ltd. Perpetual Cup they won at the Portadown Show. The cup is awarded to the secondary school whose students gain the highest number of points in the show. Clounagh has won it nine times. Of the 105 entries from the school there were 55 prizewinners.
